Airsoft Gun Models
There are 3 types of airsoft guns available, some low quality and of course the high end models, all of which use different mechanisms to make the guns fire.
Spring Guns
The spring models are powered by a spring. With these models you need to manually cock the firing spring before each shot. These are the cheapest models and less powerful than the gas and electric ones. Because they are easy to use and operate and cost less than other models they make great guns for beginners.
The Gas Models of Airsoft Guns
The gas models use a cartridge that is powered by gas, which is what powers the shot. They are heavier than the spring and electric models. The advantage of them is that they provide a semi auto feel when shooting.
Electric Models
Electric airsoft guns, otherwise known as AEG, use electricity to power a motor that shoots out the plastic BB bullets. Disposable batteries are usually required for these models and some come with rechargeable ones. They are very popular, especially with advanced hobbyists because they can fire up to a 1000 rounds per minute.
They are the most durable of all models. They allow for quick shots, fast BB reloads. They are also very realistic. A good example of the electric airsoft gun model is the AK-47 which provides automatic and semi-automatic firing.
